The opening reception for “Beyond City Limits”, my first solo exhibit, was last Friday, December 6th at Galerie Matilda in Roswell, Georgia.  The gallery owner, Mary Jane Potter, and I had a great time planning the exhibit, setting up the gallery for the show and hanging the paintings.  I had a little over 40 paintings to exhibit so figuring out how to hang everything up was fun and challenging; sort of like putting together a jigsaw puzzle.

The reception was held during the First Friday Art Walk in Historic Roswell and I was thrilled with the turnout despite the forecast of thunderstorms for the evening.

Lots of art collectors, family and friends showed up at the reception and I had a great time visiting with everyone.  My sweet mom catered the event and my husband’s band, Cigar Store Indians, played at the reception.

I’m a lucky girl to be surrounded by such talented and helpful people who were willing to generously share their talents in an effort to make the evening a success.  My first solo exhibit is in the books and I’m looking forward to planning the next one!  Stay tuned…
